First, if you haven't done it yet, finish reading Charlie's "July 14" journal entry, (pp. 221-231) and write a personal response in your notebook:
--> Consider how you imagine Charlie ("Mr. Gordon from Beekman University") might be feeling during this visit? Why might he be feeling this way?
--> What scenes/descriptions/people stood out to YOU the most in these 10 pages?
Then, read up to the end of page 255 - reading quiz on Monday 5/1!
Sci Fi & Fantasy
Science Fiction as a genre uses extreme settings and conflicts to explore the ethics and consequences of the decisions we make in the here and now. These stories capture our imagination, challenge our perceptions of who we are, and demand that we look critically at the world we live in today so that we can be participants in determining what the world of TOMORROW may look like.
